General Questions/New to Joomla! 5.x • How does it work with favicons?

I have read different threads about the favicons.

I'm working with Joomla 5.2.2
I have made a custom favicon.ico and favicon.svg.
If I put these in the directory "media/templates/site/cassiopeia/images", nothing is happening.

BUT:
If I rename:
- joomla-favicon.svg to joomla-favicon.svg.org
- joomla-favicon-pinned.svg to joomla-favicon-pinned.svg.org,

than one of my custom favicons is shown in browser tab.

My question is this right what I have done to get my custom favicon shown in the browser tab?
