Thanks Phil
My upgrades are continuing. The first batch of 5 domains were upgraded at the end of April and the next 10 are scheduled for next week. That just leaves another 10 remaining domains, but only 2 of them are Joomla sites anyway so I'm feeling a lot more comfortable sticking with Siteground now.
I do understand that it didn't feel as if anything was happening for a long time and that convinced some to look for alternatives. I left my previous hosts for similar reasons - they were unable to give me solid promises for upgrading their hosting and all my sites were already stuck on unsupported versions of PHP at that point, so I had no choice but to jump ship. It looked as if the same might be happening again with Siteground but thankfully they now look to be coming through.
